Metric - Calculation Theme

I'm sick, you're tired, let's dance
Break to love make lust I know it isn't
I'm sick, you're tired, let's dance
Cold as numbers but let's dance
As though it were easy for you to lead me
I could be passive gracefully
Half the horizon's gone for a skyline of numbers
Half the horizon's gone we're working the numbers
'Till I'm sick
Sleep don't pacify us until
Daybreak sky lights up the grid we live in
Dizzy when we talk so fast
Fields of numbers streaming past
I wish we were farmers, I wish we knew how
To grow sweet potatoes and milk cows
I wish we were lovers, but its for the best
Tonight your ghost will ask my ghost
Where is the love?
Tonight your ghost will ask my ghost
Who here is in line for a raise?
Tonight your ghost will ask my ghost
Where is the love?
Tonight your ghost will ask my ghost
Who put these bodies between us?

Waving not Drowning

I had a dream
Florence thrashed in her sleep
And we lost her somewhere in the deep
Pimps and nightingales singing songs so sweet
I tried to run away to you but blooms began at our feet
Awake now, I enter in, dream state eyes closing to remember
The details and happenings of effervescent formulaic brain waving
Waving not drowning
Waving not drowning
The distance placed between us is no one’s fault but mine
The thrashing floor of patience belittles our efforts, oh what a crime
Won’t you come help me and we can find somewhere to dine
Victor, Harris, Blackfriars, places I’ve called mine
I write to a tune trapped in my head
All bubbles and cycles until there is nothing left
Waves dashing against rocks
Un peeling the buttons of your frocks
Diving in and turning to shore begin your waving
Waving not drowning
Waving not drowning
I dream here:
Don't let them take my dreaming away from me.
With the pills, it stops.
With too much liquor, it stops.

Your Words Sting

I know you’re trying to not be your father
Because he hurt your mother
And the cycle cycles endlessly
No fists in this business
Instead a clanging clamour to anticipate the chink in your armour, so relentlessly
Verbs as daggers
Tones like swords
Watch your mouth, babe
Where all stillness is born
Tip toeing around is harder without carpet there
Feet padding down hallways half past 8
Don’t you shake, don’t awake
Broken bear with singed fur and someone has escaped his layer
